I believe it was Winston Churchill who said “Never Let a Good Crisis Go to Waste”.  I never really thought about that statement that much until the Covid-19 virus started to spread across the globe.  The obvious meaning behind that very popular statement is that a crisis forces people to react and think outside the box to find solutions and opportunity. The Covid Crisis has presented many problems in Costa Rica even-though the active case numbers remain relatively low and nonexistent here in Jaco Beach and Los Sueños. 

The term “Essential Business” has been a popular buzz word during the Covid-19 crisis.  My curiosity got the best of me so I did a little research to find out exactly what that means as it seems a little grey in today’s world. The definition of “Essential” is something necessary, indispensable, or unavoidable.  I started thinking about the obvious essential businesses like hospitals, pharmacies, supermarkets, banks, gas stations, etc…  I was pleasantly surprised to find out “Real Estate” was also deemed to be an Essential Business during the Covid-19 pandemic.  It makes sense that Real Estate is essential as people need a place to live.  Real Estate also plays an important role in driving the economy for most countries and makes up a big part of GDP (Gross Domestic Product). 

Unless you’ve been living on a yacht in the middle of the Pacific Ocean there is a good chance you have been negatively impacted by Covid-19.  Costa Rica has been fortunate so far with a relatively low number of coronavirus cases compared to some other countries.  In times like these there is a lot of anxiety due to the virus health concerns, unemployment, stock market fears, etc. etc. so it’s very important to get your mind off all the media negativity.  An excellent way to get your mind off the crisis is by planning a relaxing family vacation after the dust settles and travel restrictions are inevitably lifted.  Planning or postponing a much-needed trip to Costa Rica will improve your own mental health by giving you something to look forward to.  I like to call it “The light at the end of a long dark tunnel’.

Punta Leona is located along the Central Pacific coastline in Costa Rica 15 minutes north of the popular tourist town of Jaco.  I’ve had the pleasure of touring numerous tourist all around the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica and consistently get the following question: “are there white sand beaches in Costa Rica?”.  What a lot of people don’t realize before they arrive to Costa Rica is that most the coast line is made up of a volcanic cinnamon colored sand. There is a beautiful exception to the cinnamon sand on the Central Pacific known as Punta Leona.  The Punta Leona beach is in a U shaped enclave that protects the beautiful white sand and clear turquoise water. There are 2 main beaches in the Punta Leona neighborhood appropriately named Playa Blanca “White Beach” and Playa Mantas.  Playa Blanca is a little more exclusive with only homeowners or guest of the homeowners allowed access into the gated community where the beach is located.  That said, there are no private beaches in Costa Rica so you can also access the amazing white sand beach by boat.

The majority of the condominiums in Vista Las Palmas are 2670 sq ft, 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and every residence is direct beachfront boasting stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. Vista Las Palmas is strategically located on the same block as the new Jaco Walk which is home of the best restaurants and shops in Jaco. I’ve traveled to most of the popular tourist destinations around the world and have yet to find a better value for the amount of beachfront luxury included at Vista Las Palmas.
